“Hey Beauty, I’m Kaitlyn!” Kaitlyn with Beauty on the Block’s sweet Instagram bio gets me every time. Her warm, charming personality is one of the many many reasons I love to recommend her to any of my couples.

Where is Beauty on the Block based out of? Do you travel?

I am located in central Arkansas, but always love traveling out for my brides! I’ve been as far as Washington State, all the way to Paris France.

What all services do you offer?

I offer a handful of services for my brides to be! From hair and makeup for each event, to custom colored and cut extensions.

Who makes up the Beauty on the Block team? Tell me a bit about you and your experience.

Beauty on the Block has a total of 5 team members to assist me on wedding days when needed. I love working with bigger bridal parties and offering my brides a full service experience all about them!

How many weddings do you take per year?

Personally, I took on about 42 weddings/events this year alone! I’m still trying to figure what I want my sweet spot to be, especially as mom to be of 2 now!

What are some of your favorite wedding trends right now?

I absolutely love the fact that full glam is coming back! Not to mention a lot of brides are wanting more of the “Old money” aesthetic and I am completely here for it! But a non makeup/hair trend I love right now is the voicemail guestbook, it’s so cute and so personal!

Do you only offer hair and makeup for the bride? Or do you also do bridesmaids, MOB, etc?

Beauty on the Block offers services to ALL bridal party members, even the groomsmen for hair, and some bridal party guests book me!

How long should you allow for hair and makeup for bride and per bridesmaid?

For AHMAZING hair and makeup make a time slot of 1 hour and 30 minutes, this really allows your artist to perfect things. If you want out of this world then you need 2 hours. This allows you to get some serious skin prep time in which is a must in the Arkansas weather!

Should couples come with freshly cleaned hair? Or otherwise?

Definitely come with clean hair!!! I have a rule no older than 24 hours- basically I can make your hair dirty if I need to but to clean it and make it not look still greasy and full of product…. Not really possible, give your self the best results with a fresh face and hair!
Pro tip- avoid longer stays in chairs and extra charges by coming in with dry, and straight hair. This helps avoid blow drying and smoothing provided by your artist which can take another hour!

How far in advance should couples book with Beauty on the Block?

Would you believe me if I said 18 months?

What else do you want your couples to know? Any words of advice or wisdom?

Remember that your big day is completely customizable, and you have so many talents to choose from! So have a clear picture of what’s in your head and reach out to your dream vendors! Often times your their dream bride and they are just as excited to celebrate you!

Also soak up EVERY moment, because life really does come at you fast!
